Tonight
This evening I have four photos to share.

These were of course taken while at the boat, in Grand Haven. There are these little islands or clumps of grass that are in the middle of the Grand River. There is always some kinds of birds hanging around these areas. Birds are one of my favorite things to take photos of. Maybe because it's such a challenge, I'm not sure. One day, I plan to have an owl in my collection of birds. Back when I was shooting with film, I seen and photographed a bald eagle right here in Hillsdale! Someday I'll have to scan that and get it on here!
Okay my bird book says these are, to the best of bird searching abilities, top to bottom. People around the marina call them wood ducks, but according to Sibley's field guide to birds these look most like a double crested cormorant. Now I could be wrong, so if you know otherwise, please tell me what they are! In the second and third shot, I was aiming for the bird standing there in the back. Now I have always believed it was a white heron , but it seems--according the the field guide--they are rare in these here parts so next best bird with the closest matching description is a great egret. Again, I could be wrong! I did have a shot of a blue heron, but it was flying away from me, so it didn't turn out real great.
There is one more shot to share tonight

Just because!

Here we go for Sunday night I have a couple more photos from Ludington for everyone.
These are some night photos
This is the sunset, and as we were watching it go down, I was wishing I had went out on the pier for better photos:

After the sun was finally down this is what was left:

Everything was so calm and the temperature was perfect that night. The sky was beautiful. The Badger had come in and it was all lit up reflecting off the smooth water. The badger is a car hauler that goes from Ludington to Milwaukee, in the summer it makes two trips across but it was down to just one trip a day on this last trip over labor day weekend.

Inverting....
This was a shot of a rubber band laying on the cement shaped like a heart. Of course I had to take a picture of it. Then I inverted it and he is the result:

This one can be purchased at:http://shortgirlnextdoor.deviantart.com/
These two are from the last Ludington trip.

This one I liked because as we were walking around the park, I seen that he had a tiny little dog and he was just sitting on the bench. You can see from my view point here, I can't see much about him or the dog. When we got down by him, his dog was a chihauhau with her nails painted pink! When we said how cute, he said "I had nothing to do with that!" Of course not! Your wife/girlfriend just makes you walk her! My husband has to do the same thing with my lil Loula!
This shot was taken as we were walking around the Municipal marina, the water was so calm and the sun so bright and HOT!

We were on our way back to the marina we were staying at after walking to the fanciest restaurant in Ludington, the kind you have to have reservations for, where we ordered only soup! They may not have been extremely happy about the large group whom most of which were drinking, all ordering soup, but let me tell you, the crab bisque at this place is not only worth the walk, but worth making a few people mad! Needless to say, if your in Ludington, find out what the restaurant is called because I don't know the name, and have the crab bisque!

Left
The newest goal with blogging was to try to get at least one blog everyday, that's how your supposed to blog. Well it never seems to work out that way for me. So the new plan was to add at least one photo and talk a bit about it. Then there would be a blog everyday!
This photo is call Left and can be purchased on http://shortgirlnextdoor.deviantart.com/

This photo of this abandoned house was grunged up a bit to make it look like a worn out old photo. I also wanted to make it look a bit spooky, not everyones taste, but this is my favorite thing to photograph.

These chairs I seen outside of an antique store while in Ludington Michigan. Here I just played with the colors and gave a grainy appearance, again to make it look worn and old.

oops
The other day I was trying to clean up my photobucket account and I apparently deleted some of the photos that were appearing in my blog. If your reading my blog, you now know the reason why some of the pictures aren't showing up. Sorry all :(

Spam fest videos
Saturday at the marina was our 2nd annual spam fest. What is spam fest you ask? One of our fellow boaters, Harlin, thought it would be fun to have a sort of pot luck buffet of food all made with spam in it. Last year was the first spam fest and I have to say the food, all laced with spam, was much improved this year!! My Husbands Spam 4 Cheese noodles won second place! Here is last years video, and it was shot by Kim: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sz-EQbzYNMA . This years was shot by Kim with some help from her husband Rick, and it is also available: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AuhWyOL1zfA . Here are the winners--http://www.youtube.com and there are tons of photos of the dishes that I am aiming to get available tomorrow.
