Two Saturday's ago

I have been seemly putting it off, here are the houses we found two Saturday's ago. It really wasn't a great outing not to mention is was pouring rain. Of the three places we found we could get halfway into ONE of them! They were busted up houses and the fourth place I wanted to go to was gone! Well I don't know how busted up this one was:

Couldn't get into this one, there was a Winnebago parking right next to it. Guessing by the age of this one we wouldn't have been able to get far anyway.,

When we drove around to find the next place I had planned on going to, I couldn't find it. Then I was afraid I was in the wrong place, because there was another place I couldn't find as well. But what I really think happened, is they were finally tore down. So we went here:

We couldn't get in because the roof was caved in. So we took photos from outside:

We left here and went down the worst dirt road in the world, Burt road, that's right I said it. It would have been smoother to drive in the fields. Then we found this broken beauty:

We had to climb into this house, the door was locked in a sort of booby trapped way, but the funny thing about that was, there was no back wall at all, we had to climb up over the foundation around this enclosed porch area:

There was some good stuff though:

Pretty sure we entered the kitchen, to the right the bathroom, I think:

From here the entry way into the living room the floor was gone, and this is where you could really see that a fire had emptied this house.

Not sure what this area was other than a storage area that was forgotten:

Now you can see that it really wasn't a great outing, I didn't get nearly as many pictures that I would normally get. We really made up for that last weekend! We hit the jackpot of abandoned houses last weekend, and now that I am done with two Saturdays ago, I can get started on those so be on the look out!

Third

The third place we found was setting way back off the road and we had to hike from the road because I didn't want to risk getting stuck in knee deep snow.  Needless to say I got a good workout, which is good because since I hurt my back with an unknown cause, I haven't been able to run.

We hiked up to the front door and was greeted with disappointment.  The floor portion of the front of the house was totally caved in.

That was sad, so we went around back to see if we could get in.

The back door worked!  Here is what we seen:

Here is the front room that was caved in:

Since the floor was mostly in the basement, we were not able to get to the second floor of this place.

What I found most amazing about this home was that normally when people leave or abandon a home, they take everything, sometimes down to the wires, literally. This house still had everything, in disarray but it was there, in the back entryway there was still a tv and a chair under all the rubble and trash. So, it leaves me to wonder did these people pass on or just walk away from their lives and treasures?

Now I said last post that I found my most favorite shot up to date and, drum roll please:

I know, it's three different tones of the same shot, but I am really loving this shot and now that I am done with these places, I will begin work on the abandoned factory that I went into last weekend and hopefully we may be able to get out and go another way this weekend! Stay tuned to find out and watch for the factory photos!!

Only one

Things are super crazy around the house this week.  Tomorrow we are leaving for a weeks stay in Cape Canaveral, Florida!  We are so excited we can hardly contain it!  There is only one photo to share tonight:

We didn't go in, but I just loved how bright this door was! What a great sign!
